The Webzidazical Performance

On the 7th of October, all the classes in Pt england went to the to wash the Webzidazical Production. When we were going to go to the hall, I thought we going to have our normal assembly. When we got to the hall, I saw the Judges table so I knew we were going to watch the Webzidazical Performances.

There were 8 acts, But my favorite 4 were the Ballerina's, The Trible Dance, The Army and The World's Got Talent.

I like the Ballerina's because my little sister Seini was in it. I liked The Trible Dance because my rubber Bands and all the masks and white things were glowing.

I enjoyed all of the performance.

Aussie Rules

Do you know a sport that involves punching the ball? well room 15 does, We have been learning the skills that required to play Aussie Rules.

If you wanted to play Aussie Rules, it’s very essential to have a Kiwi Kick Ball. Laces are stitched on to the kiwi kick ball, they can be in different colors.

It was unexpected when Megan said we were going to learn the Drop Punt, I thought it was going to be a hard skill to learn. It was awkward when I had to Kick the ball to Mya.

Every time we go to Aussie Rules, I get excited because we always learn new skills. I enjoy learning new skills with Michael, Megan, Lucy and Johny. The skill I enjoyed the most was the Specky.

Mesmerising Australia

It’s only a short hop skip and a jump across the Tasman Sea to Australia, but there is a world of difference in what you will find there.

The indigenous people of Australia are called Aborigine's. In Australia there are many cultures because it is a multi cultural country.

Kangaroo’s, Koala’s and Platypus's are unique animals to Australia. These animals can only be found in Australia, so if somebody wanted to see a Kangaroo, a Koala or a Platypus they, would have to go to Australia.

The climate in Australia is predominantly arid. If you go to the coast, you will see trees and plants, not like in the deserts.

So if you are fortunate enough to make the journey, you will need to allow plenty of time to explore all that Australia has to offer.

Spectacular New Zealand

The Rugby World Cup is bringing lots of tourists to New Zealand, but there is more here than just a cup!

Maori people are the indigenous people of New Zealand. New Zealand is a multi-cultural country, it is very interesting to learn about the people and their languages

There are very unique animals in New Zealand. The animals that are native to New Zealand are, Fantails, Kiwis, Tuataras and Pukeko, New Zealand is very lucky to have cool animals.

So if you here to see some of the 48 World Cup Rugby Games, remember to also take time to inspect more of stunning country.

Badminton

Have you played badminton before? Well guess what room fifteen has.
On Thursday’s room fifteen goes to badminton in the hall . When we get to the hall we have to listen to some instructions before we do anything. After we listen to the instructions we get to hit around the shuttle.

The equipment we use are shuttles and a racket. There were two different rackets, there was a small one and a long one. There is nothing else we have to use except our eyes and skills. The shuttles are made out of feathers so it can fly.

A couple of weeks later we played badminton soccer with a girl called Donna. When we played badminton soccer we had to pick a partner, I didn’t have a partner so Mr Marks was my partner. Badminton soccer was like real soccer but you don’t kick anything and there were no nets.

Later when we had to sit back on the floor we played mini badminton. There was only two nets so there was one net for girls and one net for boys. Mini badminton is just like the game badminton, but it’s mini and it’s not in the full court.

Most people enjoyed playing and learning how to play badminton. We also got to learn some new badminton hand skills. It was really exciting to learn badminton.

Snow Wonderland

In Wellington it snowed and the snow looked like white fluff. Some people found it frustrating to drive on the thick, slippery snow. It made the buildings look like icy, giant mountains. Overnight it was really cold so the car windows froze.

The first rugby ball

In the early 1800’s the first rugby ball was made. The rugby balls that were made in the 1800’s, were made out of raw pig’s bladder, bladder is a bag that is inside the body and it stores urine (pee).

The pig’s bladder is extremely smelly, so that’s why blowing raw pig’s bladder wasn’t such a popular task, it was also unhealthy. Most people didn’t like the idea of blowing up smelly raw pig’s bladder, so they used a clay stem to blow the bladders up.

At a place called Rugby, two shoe makers started making rugby balls for the local school. The two shoe makers stitched four rubber panels together to make the rugby balls. The rugby balls that were made in the past, depended on the size of the pig and it’s bladder. When the hand pump was invented, the rugby balls were longer inflated by lung power.

Now rugby balls are made out of synthetic materials, and they also have a standard size.
